Taxation is like a fine or penalty or an imposition on the service to God.

We have lived in a time that Lyndon Johnson scared the Christians to be apolitical to avoid any political slant. If a church had a voter guide, the church was threatened to have it’s tax free status removed. Cough, Trump took that threat away!

Artaxerxes was understanding that taxing the priesthood was a way to control those who are only to be in service to God.
