“He restores my soul;” Ps 23:3

Ellicott says about restore, He “refresheth, recreateth, quickeneth”.

There is a condition of man that only God can repair. When men have sinned and been separated from God, the soul needs to be refreshed or recreated.

When Jesus spoke to Nicodemus in John 3, the words by Jesus that he must be “born again”, should not be a foreign topic to the teacher of the Law.

Because David the Psalmist had faith in God to restore the soul, God restored His soul.

The promise is true today. If we have strayed like sheep and wandered from the fold of God, He will restore our soul into His good favor if we believe and put our trust in Him.
