The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; – Psalm 19:7
There can be no salvation apart from the inspired word of God.
James says, “Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls…”
It is he who does the will of God shall be saved.
John writes, “The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.” 1 Jn 2:17.
Why is the Bible so important to salvation? Because the word is “living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword.”
And so the scripture says, “thy word is a lamp to my feet, a light unto my path. The way to being saved is through the Holy Scriptures and the word of Christ.
” Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the word of Christ ” Rom 10:17.
The word is imperative because faith is imperative for being saved.
