EVEN THOUGH THE RIGHTEOUS ARE IN GOD’S HAND, THERE MAY BE TRAVAILS.

“For I have taken all this to my heart, even to examine it all, that righteous people, wise people, and their deeds are in the hand of God. People do not know whether it will be love or hatred; anything awaits them.” Eccl 9:1

Being a follow of Christ is not a guarantee there will be no challenges. Good people may suffer and evil people may prosper. That’s the idea. The next verse, vs 2, he sort of explains that both the good and evil will die. This death can be natural, it can be unnatural. Death comes to us all. Still, it is better to be righteous and good and be in God’s hand.

Vs 2, “It is the same for all: There is a common fate for the righteous and the wicked, for the good and the bad, for the clean and the unclean, for the one who sacrifices and the one who does not. As it is for the good, so it is for the sinner; as it is for the one who makes a vow, so it is for the one who refuses to take a vow.”

One thing important point is to think God does not love you, or that God intends evil towards you, when life is difficult. So when you who are a believer, do not think evil of God when things do not go as you would have it. Life has troubles for the good and for the evil. But it is better to go through life, all of it, in the hand of God.
