the “kindness of God” taste good….
“Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander, 2 like newborn babies, long for the pure mild of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation. 3 if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.” 1 Pt 2:1-3
God’s kindness is a powerful influence on sinners to repent….
“Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?” Rom. 2:4
Sinners have been shown the kindness of God in all the creation, but especially in Jesus Christ so that men are without excuse who continue in their rebellion to Him.
“4 For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, 5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6 and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them against to repentance, since they against crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame.” Heb. 6:4-6
God’s truth taste so good. His salvation taste good. Some will taste of God’s salvation and then turn back to the world. Why, O why, would someone do such a thing?
