CHRIST THE PASSOVER LAMB

The lintel and doorposts. The architectural design for supporting the doorway to every structure became even more important when God instructed Israel to take a bunch of hyssop dipped in the blood of the Passover lamb or goat and smear it on them. Exodus 12:23 says, “For the LORD will pass through to strike the Egyptians,; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door and not allow the destroy to come into your houses to strike you.”

If you were living in Goshen on that night, would you just believe or would you obey? And when you obeyed, would you argue that you saved yourself or would you give praise to God for His amazing grace?

7 Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed. – 1 Cor. 5:7

When you obey Jesus Christ, take no credit for your salvation. Jesus died that you might live. According to Jesus, we must deny ourselves and take up our own cross and follow Him. Nothing less will suffice or meet the threshold of saving faith. Jesus is our Passover has been sacrificed and we need to get in the blood. We need to walk in the light and be cleansed by the blood, 1 John 1:6ff. Just saying that we believe won’t suffice. Today if you believe and if you truly desire God’s saving grace, then repent of your sins and put Jesus on in baptism. In the words of Ananias, “Now why do you delay? Arise and be baptized and wash away they sins, calling on His name”, Acts 22:16. It was the blood of Christ which washed Saul of his sins when he got baptized into Christ. Have you called on God to save you? Not if you haven’t been to the river and called on Him. Are you covered by the blood of Jesus? Not if you haven’t been to the watery grave of Baptism. Bless you.
