“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” Jn 12:24

With the death of Jesus Christ comes life for the many. Our eternal life is only possible because of the death of Jesus on the cross.
Life through death is a paradox. The carnal atheist is not interested in dying. To him death is the end and there’s no fruit for him afterward. So while the ungodly person sees life through death, as in Jesus’ example, still he rejects the spiritual application.

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.” Mt 16:24

Jesus teaches us that we must die to ourselves. It means we must die to sin. If we are going to bear fruit of spiritual nature, we must turn from self and begin doing God’s will. Turn from sin. Tell Satan to take a hike when you are tempted to sin with the eyes. Draw near to God through Christ. Keep your eyes on Him and run the race with endurance. Buffet the body and make it your slave. Practice self control. Yield to God in all your ways. Walk and live and are led by the spirit, you will have the fruit of the Spirit in your life.
Is the principle of life through death still a paradox to you? Just look at Jesus and learn.
