“Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.” Jas 1:27.

People say they are against religion. Why? Because they don’t know the Scriptures and so when they are told “Jesus isn’t about religion”, well the gullible person says that makes sense and begins to parrot the same line. Just watch.

“But Dan, most religion is corrupt and that’s why they say they are against ‘religion’.”

Let me ask you a question. If 99% of Medicine was bad and dangerous, but 1% was good as it should be, would you say you were against medicine? Certainly not! You are only against the bad medicine.

Likewise, when Jesus brought to us “pure and undefiled religion”, do you think his religion should be rejected because 99% of religion is bad? I hope you know the answer.

If a baby is bathing in a wash tub. When finished, do you toss out the baby with the bath water? Of course not because you know how to distinguish between dirty water and a baby. Therefore God wants you to discern between his religion and bad.

When you hear that smart Street Preacher with his vain tattoos and belching megaphone telling how he’s bringing “a relationship, not a religion”, I want you to toss him out with the bath water and then go find the church Jesus built which is true religion.
