LAW: ARE CHRISTIANS UNDER LAW?

I am not living under or amenable to the the Law of Moses. That has been done away and made obsolete, Heb 8:6,7,13; Gal 3:24,25; 1 Cor. 8:20.

But that does not mean I am not under a law. Now as a follower of Jesus Christ, I am under what the New Testament calls “the law of Christ”, 1 Cor. 9:21; Gal 6:2; “the perfect law, the law of liberty”, Jas 1:25; 2:12; “the royal law”, Jas 2:8; “the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus”.

Under this more perfect law, established when Jesus Christ died on the cross, Heb 9:15-17, by faith striving to put away all wickedness and live according to God’s will, though I am imperfect, God counts me as perfect, as perfectly keeping His will. Thus for my faith, He credits righteousness to me. I am justified by faith for living according to the commandments of Christ, Mt 28:19,20.

Be saved today by obeying the Gospel, for what will be the outcome for those who do not obey it, 2 Thess 1:7-9; 1 Pt 4:16,17; Rom 10:16.
