It’s important that our hearts are focused on God and not self. Worship of God becomes worship of self when we worship how we please. That’s why God said we must worship Him in spirit AND truth, Jn 4:24.

Jesus who turned over the tables witnessed the House of Prayer become a den of thieves where the Truth was bent or toss
ed in order to satisfy worldly whims.

Jesus said, “But in vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrine the precepts of men.”  Mt 15:9.  When worship is tailored to satisfy my ears, it is vain. When worship is tailored to satisfy the wants of unconverted people, it is vain.  Today, let us worship God in spirit and truth.
