THE INSIDIOUS NATURE OF A LIE

“Their lies also have led them astray,  Those after which their fathers walked.” Amos 2:4.

The insidious nature of a lie is that it begins to shape your walk.  For the lie to endure,  you must live it. Until the lie is fully embraced in every way, the inconsistency will threaten to expose it and make the lie to unravel.

Those who reject the lie are a threat. Sometimes the inconsistency is the mouth and life of someone else who can expose the lie.  This person is a danger to the lie.  The liar must malign anyone who will expose the lie.

This is why Jesus was always in danger.  It is why the apostles and early Christians were in danger because the Gospel in their mouths was a threat that would expose the lies of Rome,  Greece,  Jerusalem,  and wherever Christians went.

Until we let go of lying ,  we are in danger of being overtaken by it.

Paul said,  “each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are members of one another.” Eph 4:25.
