I was reading through old post and saw from December 2015 that our deceased Bro. Keith Sisman was working on four books at the time. We are almost done with the last touches on his book Devil’s Door which is the influence of paganism through history back to Noah and up to now.

I also note that Bro. Sisman was working on a book about 1400 years of Jihad and another book on the Godhead in Judaism. This last book about the Godhead of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in the Old Testament reminded me of this passage:

“16“Come near to Me, listen to this:
From the first I have not spoken in secret,
From the time it took place, I was there.
And now the Lord GOD has sent Me, and His Spirit.”
17Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel,

“I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit,
Who leads you in the way you should go.” Isaiah 48:16-17

That text refers to the three persons of the Godhead. God, His Spirit, and the Redeemer, the one speaking.

The Redeemer is the one who Job said, “As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last He will take His stand on the earth.” Job 19:25.

The Bible is exactly what you would expect something to be that comes from a perfect God. The Bible makes sense. It can be studied all of your life and riches will still be waiting to be mined. When Christ Jesus came into the world He did not show to us a different God. He is the One who was there from the beginning.

“26Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,a and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” 27So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1

From the beginning of the Bible, we see the work of the Godhead. Man is created in the image of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Made in the likeness of God includes dominion or rule man exercises over the earth. We also are spiritual, creative, loving, and we exercise free will (this last part was not lost when Adam sinned, as some false teachers claim).

I know that there’s a tendency to lump them all together into a single God whom we glorify. But why? The inspired Bible has God showing the distinction of the three. Paul said,

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communioon of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.” 2 Corinthians. 13:14.

It is the approach of many to immediately say, ‘the communion of the Holy Spirit” is the same as the communion of God and communion of Jesus Christ. Perhaps that’s true, but it’s improper to gloss over what is said that Paul is praying for the “communion of the Holy Spirit” to be with them. The three persons are distinct. They were distinct in the Creation when the “Spirit of God hovered over the face of the deep”, Genesis. 1:2.

And my recent favorite on the Godhead is from 1 Peter 1:2 that says, “elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of teh Sprit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ;…” 1 Peter 1:2.

Our God is like none other, as Moses sang, “Who is like You among the gods, O LORD? Who is like You, majestic in holiness, Awesome in praises, working wonders?” Exodus 15:11.

Our God is three persons in one God. Each is worthy of worship. ““To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!” Revelation 5:13.

Have you been misled to go through your life to speak past Jesus Christ? Do you enjoy the sanctification of the Spirit but say not a word to Him? To me, this is inimaginable. I know, you are afraid to because people have said God is the only one to address through Christ. Tell that to Stephen who addressed Jesus Christ in prayer as he was being stoned to death. Do you think maybe Jesus heard Stephen’s prayer?

I’m all for rigid. I’m all for speaking where the Bible speaks and being silent where it is silent. So when someone tries to gloss over the mentions of the work of the Holy Spirit and Christ, I don’t think they are speaking where the Bible speaks. I love the Holy Spirit and I try to live so that I don’t grieve Him, Eph 4:30. I love Jesus Christ so when I’m speaking to the Father through Jesus, I slip in a word to Christ. “Jesus, thank you for ‘always living to make intercession for me.'” That’s Bible. Your thoughts?
