“realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers“, 1 Timothy 1:9
simplicity and shows the simplicity of Christian living as marked by its goodness and separation from the world.
In the Epistle afore mentioned, in chapter five it speaks of the manner of Christian living in the first century and says this interesting remark, “They obey the prescribed laws, all the while surpassing the laws by their lives.” Ch.5.
Paul taught the Galatians, “For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.” Gal. 5:14. When Christians treat others the way they want to be treated, they will not harm their neighbors, which is the aim of all laws of man.
So indeed, Christians love “above” the laws of man because we submit to the higher law of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.
One last word. We know of men and women of whom it is said, “they think they are above the law”. These are lawless who breaks laws which they demand that others should keep. But they are not above the law of Christ and they shall answer to that supreme law some day. They may get away with their lawless ways for a season, but they shall answer to Christ on judgment day.
