As a child I remember being terribly let down when my mom told me Santa wasn’t real. But you know what? I kept getting up on Sunday morning, me and my sister, to ride the J.O.Y. bus to church. Children know there’s nothing make believe about Jesus Christ. So if you do make believe, don’t worry that your children will suddenly look down on you as a liar and blame you for being an unbeliever. It’s OK to have fantasy for a child. Use that time to teach giving, family, love.
