LIVE THIS DAY FOR GOD LIKE IT’S YOUR LAST: START WITH PRAYER, DM

“It’s appointed for man to die, and then comes the judgement.” Heb. 9:27.

It’s easy to be distracted from really important things. We are rarely distracted from responding to the dinner bell but the dinner bell is there to get out attention. We have alarms to wake us because we have been distracted by sleep. We now have in cars vibrators and bells that ring to get the attention of a distracted driving who is crossing the center median. We get distracted by the world so that minutes, hours, and days go by without
really ever giving some serious time in talking to God.

Death is going to come and that will be it. No matter what you are involved in or how big your plans, death will come unexpectedly and then you might have regret.

“You might be a king or a little street sweeper, but sooner or later you dance with the reaper.” – Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey

That’s right, it doesn’t matter who you are; you are going to die and then you will meet the Lord. So pray. What is the most serious matter is that we spend some important time talking to the Father in heaven. Make sure everything is good. Confess what needs to be confessed. Get some right perspective from Him who gives wisdom generously. Talk about the day. Give Him thanks. Seek His protection and healing.

“Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:16.

Wouldn’t it be awesome to stand before God some day and be able to say, “I sure enjoyed talking to you this morning.”? When it comes to prioritizing today, think of a few areas of importance. Connecting with family and church is right up there at the top. Reaching a lost soul with the Gospel is right up there at the top. But the very tip top, pinnacle of importance is drawing up close to God.
