2 Cor 5:10-11, “10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. 11 Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest to God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences.”

Q: Why do people say God would not send people to hell fire? Jesus said things like, “If your eye causes you to stumble, throw it out; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, than, having two eyes, to be cast into hell, 48 where THEIR WORM DOES NOT DIE, AND THE
FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED.” Mk. 9:47. Jesus said that religious people will also be doomed because they didn’t do God’s will, Mt. 7:21ff.

The Judge of it – Christ. Life is a test and there will be an examination at the end. “For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son,” Jn 5:22.

The Universality of it – everyone. No one will escape, get past it, skip it,

The Certainty of it assures – Hebrews 9:27, Romans 2:6ff

The Reward of it – to be repaid for the things done in the body. God did “forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name.” Heb 6:10. This will be thorough and every secret will be revealed. This goes to the justice and rightness of it. This judgment will be the judgement of each person’s character. Did he have faith and Repent? Was he a rebel and reject Gospel?

The Thoroughness of it – “on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus.” Rom 2:16.

The Being Ready for it – “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13)

The choice is between heaven and hell. And if we judge God and Christ and the Bible because they tell of judgment, we have to ask if our own judgment is valid. God does not take pleasure in the death of the wicked, Ezekiel 33:11; 18:23. It does no good to accuse God of evil. God is good, desires all to be saved, and He makes sure that everyone is without excuse, Romans 1:20. The good news is that God has made the way for all to be saved and if we ask, seek, and knock, we will be blessed.
Knowing this, here are words to consider: What manner of people should we be?

“10But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be dissolved in the fire, and the earth and its works will not be found. 11 Since everything will be dissolved in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to conduct yourselves in holiness and godliness 12as you anticipate and hasten the coming of the day of God, when the heavens will be dissolved by fire and the elements will melt in the heat” 2 Pet 3:10-12.
