Jesus said to the thief “today you will be with me in Paradise”. That’s one side of the Hadean world. Peter speaks of the other side when he says those disobedient spirits are now in prison, pits of darkness, reserved for judgment, see 1 Peter 3:19; 2 Pt.2:4. So I believe the scriptures reveal that the dead are either in Paradise or in Pits of Darkness waiting for the coming Judgment. Of course, being in Paradise implies a judgment has occurred. But so does becoming a Christian, being washed and forgiven, having the seal of salvation imply it as Jesus said to the disciples that they had passed out of death into life, 1 Jn 3:4; Jn. 5:24. So the judgment day will be a time to stand before the great judge and hear Him say, “innocent”. Then you enter heaven.
