Got a question for you. Is Eve’s “seed” in Genesis 3:15 in the singular or plural? Note that God speaks to the devil, who Jesus came to destroy the works of, 1 In 3:8, and God refers to the woman’s seed as “it” and “his”.

I’ve read that it’s talking about Christ and that it’s talking about the church, I.e., Christ and the church will crush the devil’s head and his works. It’s true. But it’s also true that you have no seeds without the first seed, who is Christ. The seed of the woman must, first and foremost, refer to Jesus Christ for there is no crushing of the head of the serpent without Him.

When God said to Abraham, “through your seed all nations will be blessed.”, Paul in Galatians makes the point that God meant Christ, one seed, not many seeds, through whom all nations would be blessed. So when God says it to the serpent,

When, or if, you observe one day over another, and if you choose to make December 25 that day, isn’t this the most significant reason to do so that God’s only begotten Son came into the world to be our Savior, to give the fatal blow to the works of the devil, and to fix the mess sinful man has made?

What a very special event among all of the things God has done to bring His child [the “it” of Genesis 3:15] into the world through the Virgin Mary. Isaiah foretold of it, angels announced it, shepherds witnessed it, wise men celebrated and worshipped it [note that they gave worship, Gr. PROSKUNEO, to Jesus which angels refused, saying only PROSKUNEO God, Rev. 22:8,9], and the devil’s seed feared it, Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1, Matthew. 2.

But it’s hardly mentioned and never commanded to be observed, some say. Agreed, and it’s your right not to. But that Mark and John’s Gospels don’t mention it doesn’t make the event any less significant. That the Epistles of Paul never mention it or preach on the significance of the virgin birth makes it no less important. When Immanuel came into the world to save sinners and defeat the devil, that must be the very best reason you would keep such a day as December 25…. If you so choose to do.
