“3For the lips of an adulteress drip honey And smoother than oil is her speech; 4But in the end she is bitter as wormwood, Sharp as a two-edged sword. 5Her feet go down to death, Her steps take hold of Sheol. 6She does not ponder the path of life; Her ways are unstable, she does not know it. 7Now then, my sons, listen to me And do not depart from the words of my mouth. 8Keep your way far from her, And do not go near the door of her house, 9Or you will give your vigor to others, And your years to the cruel one; 10And strangers will be filled with your strength, And your hard-earned goods will go to the house of an alien; 11And you groan at your final end, When your flesh and your body are consumed;” Proverbs 5:3ff

Protect yourself against the woman who sets out to seduce you. The adulteress is a seducer. She will entice you with her lips and eyes and with her dress. When it happens that you succumb to her, you are trapped and will have to pay. The promise by her was as sweet honey but it will hit your stomach like a bitter poison. You will not escape the reality of what you have done. This kind of woman is nothing but trouble. She does not give these things much thought. She does not really care. She may want the immediate thrill. Perhaps she treats is like a business. Or maybe she like hurting people. It doesn’t matter her motive. Regardless, she will hurt you if you follow her. If you into her door, you a implicated. Very soon the realization will flood over you like a landslide that threatens your very soul. Know and take heed because she will hurt you to the point that everyone and everything you care about will be pained. Think and pray before you give the adulteress a second look. Then move on to your godly business.
