WHAT IS RIGHT IN MY OWN EYES: THE PRINCIPLE MANY SO-CALLED CHURCH FOLLOW TO JUSTIFY THEIR WORSHIP AND DOCTRINE, Dan Mayfield

8 You shall not do at all what we are doing here today, every man doing whatever is right in his own eyes; 9 for you have not as yet come to the resting place and the inheritance which the LORD your God is giving you. 10 When you cross the Jordan and live in the land which the LORD your God is giving you to inherit, and He gives you rest from all your enemies around you so that you live in security, 11 then it shall come about that the place in which the LORD your God will choose for His name to dwell, there you shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and the contribution of your hand, and all your choice votive offerings which you will vow to the LORD.” Deut 12

When God says “Jerusalem” is the only place, it excludes every other place to offer your sacrifices. And when God says to be “immersed” for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 22:16; 2:38; 8:12), it excludes every other form of getting wet: sprinkling and pouring water is not immersion as God commanded (Mt. 28:18-20). You may not do what is right in your own eyes. God said to be immersed for your sins to be washed away and that AT baptism’s water, when done in faith, it saves you (1 Peter 3:21). Respect the Scriptures and do not add your own desires. Respect God and do not authorize what God has excluded by His specific designation. To ignore what God has specifically instructed is to do what is right in your own eyes.
