“Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.” Hebrews 13:17.

Parents who do not respect the Elders and the faithful minister of the Gospel cannot expect for their children to respect legitimate authorities in their own lives. But if we show respect to those who are legitimate authorities in the church, then we also teach our children to have the same respect. But if our children grow up and prove to be rebels against Christ, we should look back and ask ourselves what did we teach them by our own actions?

Will your children seek your advice and the advice of older people when it comes to major decisions in their life? They will do this if we teach and expect them to.
