“A time to weep and a time to laugh; A time to mourn and a time to dance.” Eccl. 3:4.
You know what is wrong with our world? It has tried to create a false reality but the people keep getting slapped in the face by reality.
You are not meant to have fun 24 hours a day. Life isn’t all mountaintop experiences. Everything is not meant to be rosie. There are valleys and there is mourning. The false reality of our godless world just sets people up to fail by feeling they missed out on the utopia being sold.
Solomon talks a lot about futility and vanity and how so much in life is just pointless distraction. How many people are pinning all of their hopes on these things? How many are building their worldview on things that have no lasting value? I would guess it is the majority.
Did you wake up this morning feeling heavy and burdened? Welcome to life. Embrace it. Understand that there’s something to learn. So do not ignore the dark periods. Learn from them. Don’t self-medicate and put yourself in an unreal state of mind. Stay sober. Pray. Seek God’s wisdom. Problem solve and make a plan to fix what needs to be fixed and to embrace what cannot.
If we believe like God said to Paul that “My grace is sufficient”, then act like it and by faith live, breath, keep the focus on the real and lasting promises of God.
