“Wealth adds many friends,” Pro. 19:4
Have you noticed that the rich gift to the rich? Have you noticed that the rich are praised and adored? Have you noticed that the rich have special privileges that the regular people do not enjoy? Have you noticed that rich get the awards? Have you noticed that the rich have less faith than the poor?
Jesus said it is easier for a came to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God, Mt 19:24.
Having wealth is not a sin in and of itself, but being rich comes with a special set of problems that often serve to hinder the faith.
Friends are nice, but no one should want friends gained on the basis of wealth. Treat all men, rich and poor, the same. And a rich man who truly has the spirit of faith should be happy for the “humiliation” of being counted among God’s people.
