Sinners unprepared will be cut off eternally from God. Zechariah 5:3 says, “This is the curse that is going forth over the face of the whole land; surely everyone who steals will be purged away according to the writing on one side, and everyone who swears will be purged away according to the writing on the other side. Zechariah 5:3
That’s the judgment day that is coming: “31“But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. 32“All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; 33and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left.” Mt. 25:31-33
– It’s not just about being a good person, it’s about loving Jesus and serving Him and living to do His will – He is the King and Lord and Master.
Jesus said, “22Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.” Mt 7:22
ARE WE LIVING FOR JESUS THE KING AND MASTER?
After telling everyone that God loves the world to save the world through His Son, Jesus continued: “36He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” Jn. 3:36.
AND WHAT ABOUT THOSE WHO BELIEVED BUT FELL AWAY BACK INTO THE LIFE OF SIN?
They did not obey the Gospel. “to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, 8dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed—for our testimony to you was believed.” 2 Thess 1:7-10
Unfortunately, some will fall away: “26For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27but a terrifying expectation of judgment and THE FURY OF A FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THE ADVERSARIES.” Heb 10:26-27
The devil is prowling to devour the ill-equipped and unprepared. “8Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9Resist him, standing firm in your faith and in the knowledge that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kinds of suffering.” 1 Pt 5:8-9
God wants everyone to be saved. He loves every soul and calls for sinners to be restored to Him, repenting and confessing the Good News, and serving others as Jesus served.
