“THEY HAVE BLOWN THE TRUMPT AND MADE EVERYTHING READY, BUT NO ONE IS GOING TO THE BATTLE, FOR MY WRATH IS AGAINST ALL THEIR MULTITUDE. THE SWORD IS OUTSIDE AND THE PLAGUE AND THE FAMINE ARE WITHIN. HE WHO IS IN THE FIELD WILL DIE BY THE SWORD; FAMINE AND THE PLAGUE WILL ALSO CONSUME THOSE IN THE CITY. EVEN WHEN THEIR SURVIVORS ESCAPE, THEY WILL BE ON THE MOUNTAINS LIKE DOVES OF THE VALLEYS, ALL OF THEM MOURNING, EACH OVER HIS OWN INIQUITY. ALL HANDS WILL HANG LIMP AND ALL KNEES WILL BECOME LIKE WATER.” Ezekiel 7:14-17

There’s a time when the justice of God is felt by everyone, and Woe when God’s Judgment Comes. The entire economy of people, the trade, the structures of everything are intertwined so that the wind blows and all the grass is moved. There is a certain point that there is guilt to be shared by all. Some have masterminded the evil. Others have remained silent or have been complicit in some way. Others have profited from it. And still others have not spoken up or have not been steadfast in their faith. Fathers and mothers have neglected their faith and the children who are dependent suffer too. The neglect of the elders have an impact on the youths. When God pours out his wrath upon a people, the judgement might be direct and severe. Others might fall to the lack of basic essentials because the resources have dried up. Many will fall to the invisible germ that indiscriminately moves from person to person. And even those who flee the epicenter of the scourge, will huddle on the tops of mountains or in the wastelands, and with mourning and moaning, they will not have peace. They too will have grief that gnaws away at the belly and strains the head.

Let us strive today to be light and salt. Let us strive today to proclaim the truth. Let us not shrink back in fear. Let us draw near to God while we can.
