THE WORK OF SATAN -preached 7/15/25

Jesus said the devil came to kill and destroy and steal. Everywhere you look in the world where there’s murder and theft and destruction, then understand the devil is behind it. What are the ways that the devil attacks us because he hates us? We are mind and body and spirit though if the devil cannot attack your body then he will attack your mind, and if he cannot attack your mind, he will attack your soul. What he wants to do to us and to our children and to this culture is to defile the mind, body and Spirit of every person.

– 2 Tim 6:12, Paul said everyone who desires to be godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,

Let’s stop defining Persecution as just the final violent kind as with Stephens violent death, Acts 8:1Persecution (DIOGMOS) defined: means to be pursued or hounded, or oppressing often with hostility.

– John 15:20, Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.

Jesus wasn’t only persecuted in the trial and death. What does Joh 5:15f say?- 15 The man went away, and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well. 16 For this reason the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because He was doing these things on the Sabbath.

–Think about the ways the Jews were persecuting Jesus before they crucified Him.

Other Greek includes DIOKO (tribulation or affliction) used by Jesus in John 15:20 where He says the world will persecute His followers.If you say, get behind me Satan, and resist him from in your faith, you are being hounded, outside and persecuted by Satan.

1. Temptation is persecution. What do you think it was when Jesus was tempted in the wilderness? Mt 4:1-11. We can overcome only be turning to God for help and to recognize the way of escape he provides, 1 Cor 10:132. The devil persecutes through deceptions of people.

2. 2 Cor. 11:13. “These people (who) are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ.” – With this deception by deceitful workers, the church rightly feels the persecution.

3. The spiritual warfare that’s not against flesh and blood is persecution many rightly feel.

4. –Eph 6:12, 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

— Why are Christian parents fleeing from public schools because the minds and souls of the children are constantly bombarded with anti God rhetoric — In Maine, parents can have their children taken from them if they didn’t vaccinate their children. — In California if parents don’t affirm their child’s preferred gender, they can have their child taken from them. — Christians can’t wear symbols of the cross or can’t talk about their faith in the workplace while the same places allow for multiple times of prayer for Muslims and for foot washing in the bathrooms.- there is an anti Christian force at work to define as hate if you say what the Bible says about Jews in 1 Thess “14 For you, brothers, became imitators of the churches of God in Christ Jesus that are in Judea. For you suffered the same things from your own countrymen as they did from the Jews,f 15who killed both the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove us out, and displease God and oppose all mankind- or if you silently pray for the unborn near an abortion mill, people have been arrested. – Young Christians in college are mocked and ridiculed for believing in God and for rejection of darwinism..

23 Are they servants of Christ?—I am speaking as if insane—I more so; in far more labors, in far more imprisonments, beaten times without number, often in danger of death. 24Five times I received from the Jews thirty-nine lashes. 25Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent adrift at sea. 26I have been on frequent journeys, in dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my countrymen, dangers from the Gentiles, dangers in the city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers at sea, dangers among false brothers; 27I have been in labor and hardship, through many sleepless nights, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure. 28Apart from such external things, there is the daily pressure on me of concern for all the churches. 29Who is weak without my being weak? Who is led into sin without my intense concern?

2 Cor 11 Why did Paul go through dangers, threats, hardships? Because he went to the front line for the cause of Christ. If we are not persecuted, we are not on the front line. If we speak up for Christ, if we teach the list and convert sinners, if we stand up against unrighteousness, and the greater the evil in the world, the more harsh will be the persecution.

Matthew 5:10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. I wouldn’t suggest we look for trouble, but don’t run from an opportunity to share and spread the gospel. The devil will hate you but God will praise you.
