“Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.” Acts 22:16
The thing about baptism is it is designed by God to be a once in a lifetime thing. Both in mode (what it looks like), subject (the person), and purpose (why or the reason for it), it is to be done right. If any of these three were not right when you were baptized, then you need to be baptized again.
There’s no consolation in saying that nobody does everything right. Not true. It’s true that maybe I didn’t sing right or take the Lord’s Supper right last week, but I have repented and this week and I get another chance to do it right. This is all accommodated by God’s grace and patience. But baptism is only called for once in a lifetime. Therefore in every way that one time baptism must be informed by the Scriptures so that it is an adult (Acts 8:12) being immersed/buried (Rom 6:3-5; Col 2:12,13; Acts 8:38) for his/her sins to be washed away. Baptism is a calling on God for salvation and confession of sins (Acts 22:16; 2:38,21).
Was your baptism an immersion? Yes or No?
Was your baptism received as an adult? Yes or No?
Was your baptism to be cleansed in the blood? Yes or No?
If you did not answer Yes on all three questions, then you have not yet obeyed God fully and need to do this command of Jesus (Mt 28:19; Mk 16:16) right away to be saved. Private message me if I can help you to be baptized according to God’s will.
I say this in love.
