“A false witness will perish” – Pro. 21:28
I would not want to destroy someone’s life by destroying him with a lie. Doing so would damn the liar to hell.
“You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.” Exodus 20:16.
A man who bears a false testimony against another man with the knowledge that he is destroying the innocent person’s life will himself suffer greatly in this life and in the life to come. Woe to those who lie against their neighbor.
He is a vicious man who knowingly does it. “A man that bears false witness against his neighbor is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.” Pro 25:18.
God hates this person.
“There are six things that the LORD strongly dislikes, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.” — Proverbs 6:16–19.
God forbid that we ever do this. God is the avenger who brings justice to the helpless.
“35‘Vengeance is Mine, and retribution, In due time their foot will slip; For the day of their calamity is near, And the impending things are hastening upon them.” Deut. 32:35.
