And these false teachers use Luke 17 to support their idea. But Luke 17 does not support the error called the rapture.
The Bible says that when Noah was once in the ark, the “left behind” world was killed in the flood. And when God escorted Lot and his family out of Sodom, the “left behind” people in the city were judged. Now THAT is what will happen to the one left in his bed and the one grinding at the mill. They will be judged that day.
Judgment day is coming. The Thessalonian letters show that the coming of the Lord will be the day that three things happen: 1] the dead are raised from the grave; 2] the living Christians will be transformed and will rise to meet the Lord in the air; 3] the ungodly world will be judged with eternal fire. 1 Thessalonians 4:13ff; 2 Thess 1:6-9 (yep, you have to have your Bible to look those passages up).
“28Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming when all who are in their graves will hear His voice 29and come out — those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.” – John 5.
The 2nd advent of the Lord is at hand. At an hour and day that no one knows but the Father alone, Jesus is coming, Mt. 24:36. And when He comes, He will save the church and will judge the rest of the world with righteous judgment, 2 Thess 1:6-9 (Yes, you have to actually look that passage of scripture up or else you won’t see Paul is talking about the coming of the Lord).
So when the pre-millenialists continue to teach the rapture theology, they are teaching something entirely foreign to the Bible. There’s no seven years of peace and tribulation after Jesus has come. There’s no 1000 year reign of Christ on earth after that. So be ready today for the return of Jesus Christ because if He doesn’t take you first, He will judge you next just as they were judged in Noah’s and Lot’s day. His coming will be like the flood. His coming will be like the fire that rained down on Sodom. Therefore, be saved today and be prepared.
I say this in love.
