Apollo 15 Astronaut Al Worden described the stars when he passed around the dark side of the moon saying the following: “The sky is just awash with stars when you’re on the far side of the Moon, and you don’t have any sunlight to cut down on the lower intensity, dimmer stars. You see them all, and it’s all just a sheet of white.”1
It makes me think of what Daniel 12 says, “2“Many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt. 3“Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.”
How bright is the “brightness of the expanse”? It’s brighter than we imagined. And it hints therefore at how God will praise, honor, and glorify the person who brings the lost to the place of salvation in Christ.
