If you are ignoring and not correcting that your child is mean, nasty, disrespectful, etc, then you should expect that your lack of attention and correction is going to be directly responsible for them having the same behavior at 14 years old. And when they leave for college or marriage and do not have a Christian spirit, know that your lack of attention when they were young is directly responsbible for their lack of faith. You didn’t want to hear this. But when you are older and your child is not following God, you will not be
eligible to be an Elder. God will forgive you and take you to heaven, if you have repented, but there will be ongoing consequences to giving too little attention to the “brat”. I say this in love and point fingers at no one here.
