“Grandchildren are like a crown to the elderly; and the glory of children is their parents.” Pro. 17:6.

The fractured society cannot really understand or appreciate what it is missing by not having a vast extended family where there are many children living with and being raised by their biological parents. The biologically correct extended family with children being influenced by grandparents is largely a thing of a bygone era.  There was a time that whether by necessity or choice, children grew up learning about life, not in the street, but by the regular interaction of their blood relatives. In fact, God said it was to be this way.

“6“These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. 7“You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.” Duet. 6.

Children are especially blessed when their God-fearing kinfolk are living their faith and diligently impressing it upon the them. This is Gods design. The family is God’s gift.
