​”They speak falsehood to one another; With flattering lips and with a double heart they speak.” Psalm 12:2

James talks about people who are “double-minded” who are like two souls in one body. These are people who claim to have faith, but they are always doubting. They are people who want to be friends with God and friends with the world. This duplicitous, hypocritical behavior is very displeasing to the LORD. When the person has a double heart, they are like those who claim to love God and love the world at the same time. God always sees through this. You cannot have two masters and you cannot claim to love God while giving your heart to things opposed to Him. Let us unify our hearts so that we love what God loves and we hate what God hates.
