The Bible says, “You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.” 1 Peter 3:7.

A good leader at home will have mentally healthy women and daughters. It is when we ignore their emotional needs that they go crazy. A weak man will give no support to the rest of the family. A strong man is strong in spirit, in mind, and body, and this strength will be a steadying influence throughout the home. Fear and anxiety will not take over the children’s minds.

My wife is the best at nurturing her children, sacrificing her needs for the children. But the babies are so demanding. With out third child, the baby starting wanting the breast every hour through the night. And my wife’s attitude was to give it when the child wanted. She was getting no sleep! When the child was almost a year old, I woke up to my wife screaming into her pillow, her hands pounding the pillow, and saying “I can’t take it anymore.” She was sleep deprived. Normally a tower of strength, the woman was at the breaking point. The baby was still in the crib and told the wife to go to sleep because I was taking over. For the next three nights, I was on duty every time little Heidi woke. I got up and calmed baby, but did not take her out of the crib. Each night, every time she tried to get up, I was beside the crib, rubbing the babies back but would not let her up. In 3 nights, the baby was sleeping all night.

A man has to understand his wife and help her keep her sanity. We have five children who are well-developed in mind, body, and spirit thanks to their nurturing mother and their strong understanding father. When the ladies are falling apart emotionally, often it is because their is no leadership from the man. #noapologyfortruth

Beckham has been married for 20 years and he takes pride in raising his three boys and daughter. I don’t know the mental health of his wife and daughter, but a strong, involved father has a good chance of having healthy women around him.
