God speaks in absolutes that you are saved and can know it. But the counter to it, says, no you can’t know you are saved because you aren’t perfect. Or, you aren’t perfect, therefore you aren’t saved.

WITH God, there’s no middle ground. There’s no room for milquetoast. There’s no room for lukewarm.  Be for Him or be against Him. Serve Him or serve the devil. Know He is right or doubt Him and expect to receive nothing.  Agnostic is just a nice word for not believing. Be a knower or be against Him. There’s no place to stand in between.  If you love God, you can’t love the world.

YOU ARE ON ONE WAY OR THE OTHER WAY AND THERES NO MIDDLE WAY. 13Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it. – Mt 7Either you are on the straight and narrow way or you are not.

YOU ARE EITHER AN INSTRUMENT FOR GOOD OR FOR EVIL 12Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its desires. 13Do not present the parts of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and present the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness. 14For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace. – ROM. 6Either you are an instrument for righteousness or you are an instrument for unrighteousness. Does sin reign in your mortal body or not?

EITHER YOU ARE BORN AGAIN OR YOU ARE NOT 5Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the spirit…..18Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. – John 3Are you born again or not? Are you condemned or not? It comes down to the question if you have an obedient faith or not?

EITHER YOU ARE WALKING ACCORDING TO THE FLESH OR YOU ARE WALKING ACCORDING TO THE SPIRIT. 5Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. 6The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace, 7because the mind of the flesh is hostile to God: It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8Those controlled by the flesh cannot please God. – Rom. 8Are you led by the flesh or led by the spirit? There is no in between. What controls you is paramount to answering if you are pleasing to God. You are or you are not! Our mind has to be set on one or the other and there’s no in between.

EITHER YOU TRUST IN WORKS OR GRACE TO SAVE 4You who are trying to be justified by the law have been severed from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. – Gal. 5We cannot trust in our works to save because then you don’t understand grace and are thereby dismissing grace to save. Grace works through faith. If your trust or faith is in self, it by definition does not trust in something else. We either trust God to save or we do not.

EITHER WE ARE CONTROLLED BY FEAR OR YOU ARE CONTROLLED BY LOVE 18There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. The one who fears has not been perfected in love. – 1 John 4the love of God perfected in you is evidenced a couple of ways by loving each other and by being freed from the control of fear. If fear and hatred still govern you, the love of God is not understood by you and is not perfected in you. John said “fear involves punishment, but perfect love cast out all fear”. How? Because God has given His love through Jesus and you do not have the fears carnal men do.

EITHER WE ARE CARNAL OR FLESHLY OR WE ARE SPIRITUAL. “1And I, brothers and sisters, could not speak to you as spiritual people, but only as fleshly, as to infants in Christ. 2I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to consume it. But even now you are not yet able, 3for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like ordinary people?” – 1 Cor 3

There is no in between here. Brothers are spiritual and they eat the spiritual meat and understand it or else they are fleshly and can’t even eat the spiritual baby food. God is speaking in absolutes here. Disciples are either the light of the world or they are not. They are born again or they are not. They love or they hate. They walk with the world or they walk with God. They go with the majority or they walk the straight and narrow with the few. There is no in between. Either God is your Master or He is not. We are either doing God’s work or we have denied the faith and are a stumbling block. In Galatians 2, Paul confronted Peter because He stood condemned. We are either representing God’s loving grace or we are pushing the flesh and doubt. James said if anyone doubts, he should not think he will receive anything from the Lord. Do you doubt you have God’s saving grace? You are double-minded and are displeasing to God.

The Bible says those who obey the Gospel are saved, redeemed, washed, born again and that the blood cleanses from all unrighteousness. And as long as you walk in the light, the blood of God’s Son cleanses (a continual thing) from all unrighteousness. The question is do you believe God or don’t you? I do and I know I am saved. I do not fear because I understand God’s love and it has perfected me.
