I wish I could say in a sentence what I’ve been trying to say in four long posts and many comments. Children are not broken because of Adam. They are innocent and whatever they do doesn’t even come close to approximate adult sin. Comparing a child lying to an adult lying is like comparing a kitten’s mischief to that of an adult animal. Children don’t need salvation: they have it. They don’t need to be baptized because they have not the faith, the commitment, the ability to do what God expects for salvation. In other words, they do not have account-ability. Family, do not let John Calvin’s perverted view of children warp your view of them. And whatever Paul is talking about in Romans, it says a lot about adults and sin, but it suggests nothing contrary to the precious innocence of children.
Said in love.
