The preaching of the Kingdom of God. When Jesus sent His disciples out, they were to be preaching the good news of the coming Kingdom. Since Jesus is risen and reigning in Heaven, the Kingdom has come and believers are transferred into it, Col. 1:13; cf Acts 2:30-36. The Kingdom of Christ is a good message to preach to the world.
People are born into various “kingdoms” of the world and they had no say in it. These kingdoms are sometimes good and often they are corrupt. They come and they go. But there is an eternal Kingdom which every man must become part of if he is to be saved and have eternal life. When the disciples went two by two into the various cities, they preached and blessed those who were receptive. But those who rejected the preaching were found unworthy and Jesus said of them, “Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city”, Mt 10:15. Maybe this is where we can begin in our preaching to the Lost.
Jesus said to pray, “Thy kingdom come”. It came, and now we preach, “Thy kingdom has come.” It’s good news and amen.
