Someone said he asks those who are seeking baptism if they wish to never commit another sin in their life? The question isn’t will you ever sin again? No one can say he will never sin again. But if a person cannot answer with certainty, “I wish to never sin again in my life”, this person hasn’t decided to follow Jesus. I agree.

We have baptized people, I’m convinced, who we wouldn’t have baptized if we had only asked them this question. The tree is known by the fruit and the continued life of sin says there was no such holy desire in them. They simply were not ready for be immersed.
