How deep to get a well? Water drilling companies drill down 300, 500, or even a 1,000 feet down to get to the water aquifer. But well do not need to be that deep. Jacob and Abraham didn’t dig a thousand feet down to have water for their goats. I imagine that a deeper well is less susceptible to contamination from chemicals seeping down from the ground.

The oceans are full of water and so is the ground. There is no shortage of water even if certain locations are parched. The water is down there if you go deep enough. It’s why there are ministries to dig wells in villages where people only have a small watering hole for drinking and bathing in. Water is down there. The waters of the deep that once burst forth to flood the earth is down there to be tapped into for life.

There is another well that men can draw from for the nourishment of their souls. “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water”, John 4:10. There is a limitless supply of living water for all who will repent and follow Jesus.
