You may be zealous for God, but is what you are doing according to what God has revealed in the New Testament (I add that specificity because we are not living by the worship and regulations of the inspired Old Testament)?
Paul said, “1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation. 2 For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge.” Rom. 10
Jews who were zealous but still living by the old law had zeal but not truth, and for this they were still lost.
Jesus showed that doing the will of the Father is what saves, Mt 7:21-23. Jesus said you can claim you did all kinds of things in his name, and He will declare to these people, “I never knew you.”
Matthew 28:18-20 is the best way to start and to be known by the Father in heaven.
